Benefits of Working with an Out-Of-Network Provider

01

Privacy

Out-of-network providers prioritize privacy by implementing stringent confidentiality measures and adhering to professional ethical standards, ensuring that your personal information remains secure and confidential throughout your therapy journey. Their commitment to protecting your privacy fosters a safe and trusting therapeutic environment, allowing you to freely explore sensitive topics without concerns about unauthorized disclosure.

02

Broader Options

Choosing to use out-of-network providers significantly broadens your options for healthcare, allowing you to select the provider who best meets your specific needs and preferences. This flexibility ensures that you're not limited by your insurance network, allowing you to focus on finding someone  you connect with and trust.

03

Care First

Utilizing out-of-network providers for therapy sessions offers you the freedom to engage in care without the constraints often imposed by insurance networks, ensuring that the duration and frequency of your sessions are tailored to your unique therapeutic needs and goals. This approach allows for a more customized and flexible therapy experience, prioritizing your well-being over insurance limitations.

Appointments & Cancellations

In order to provide the highest standard of care and be accessible to clients, there is a limit to the number of clients I work with at a time and operate through routinely scheduled appointment slots. These slot frequencies are typically scheduled weekly and, very occasionally, bi-weekly.

All clients are required to give 48 hours' notice for canceling appointments regardless of reason for needing to cancel. For late cancellations, clients are responsible for payment of session fee. Should frequency of cancellations become common, a stricter cancellation policy will be discussed.

This policy promotes effectiveness in your therapy, ensures I am accessible, and is fair to those on my wait list.

Confidentiality

All information shared will be kept confidential unless you authorize, in writing, the release of your information to specified parties for specified reasons. The exceptions to this, where I have duty to report as specified by Virginia law are:

  • Cases of imminent threat to self or other

  • Cases of suspected neglect and/or abuse of minor by a parent, guardian, custodian, or caretaker

  • Cases of suspected neglect and/or abuse of elder by their caretaker.

You can read the full Privacy Policy here.

Good Faith Estimate

Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the "No Surprises Act" which requires practitioners to provider a "Good Faith Estimate" to individuals who are uninsured or utilize self-pay only. This only applies if you choose to not utilize any out-of-network benefits. Please click here to learn more.
